Bringing Wellness Full Circle

WEEK 6 CHALLENGE

“As a man thinks within himself, so he is.”  That’s what the Bible says.  And it’s so true!

My hope is that through these challenges, you will change your mind on wellness.  Maybe you will think it’s less daunting than you thought, or maybe you will discover that it’s actually fun to take responsibility for your body.  Or maybe for the first time you will realize that your body is your responsibility.  Whatever it is, I expect good changes.  And I’d love to hear about them! Fire up those comments!

Six weeks into this 10-week challenge.

Breathing (#1), water (#2) and jumping jacks (#3) challenges are done, but feel free to keep these great habits up.  Hopefully, they are now a part of your everyday life–might as well continue!

This week, you still have three challenges:

#4: One of the sugar options (one day a week with no sugar/ every other day with no sugar/ one less sugary soda daily)

#5: Take three minutes every day to do something you really enjoy doing: I hope you have loved this one thus far!

And here is your newest one:

One time this week, cook with a healthy ingredient you haven’t used yet!

Maybe it’s kale, or turnips, or … quinoa!  Discover a new recipe, a new produce, a new taste.  Have fun with it!  And if it turns out great, shoot me the recipe! It might wind up in another edition of the NEWAY cookbook!   (If you don’t have one, you should!)

Here are your instructions:

  1. I made kale “chips” last weekend. They were certainly interesting! I think I baked them a little too long and used maybe a bit too much olive oil, but the way they crunched, and then melted in your mouth was kinda addictive. I will probably try them again and adjust the olive oil and bake time.

  2. Thanks for the challenge Barbara. I have wanted to do a quinoa recipe but just haven’t done it. I didn’t do the whole recipe but it was very tasty. I already had grilled tuna so I eliminated the chicken. I didn’t have any jalapenos so I added red cayene pepper. I really like it though.
